Cheers, Babes! Archie’s Bachelor Pad Spiced Pear

by | 0 comments

Hey Babes!

Today has been a MONDAY. And what’s better than after a long day on the grind but happy hour with your babes? Not much in my opinion.

Today we’re drinking with author babe Kristen Ashley, her swoon-worthy MC hero Jagger Black and his free spirit heroine turned mixologist Archie from her latest Chaos novella, Wild Wind.

Kristen calls this confection “A little spicy. A little mellow. A little intense. A little sharp to keep you on your toes.”

I call it happy hour heaven.

Archie’s Bachelor Pad Spiced Pear

Created by: New York Times bestselling author Kristen Ashley

Prep Time 5 minutes Serves 1
Ingredients:

  • 1 Shot Spiced Rum (Captain Morgan Preferred)

  • ¾ Shot Pear Juice

  • ¼ Shot Lime Juice

  • Ginger Ale

How to do it:

  1. Mix together rum, pear juice and lime (in a cocktail shaker if you have it)

  2. Pour over ice in an old-fashioned glass

  3. Finish off with ginger ale to your taste

Note from Kristen: Careful not to over pour the pear unless you’re a pear-lover extraordinaire. Pear is tricky and intense. You might not want too much. Though, feel free to overpour the rum!

So kick up your feet, raise your glass and cheers to our Monday getting a whole lot sweeter with this cocktail, and a fabulous week of kick ass books.

Sneak Peek of Wild Wind

Jag then opened the door to his liquor cabinet.

Archie peered in and busted out laughing again.

And again, Jag grinned at her while she did it.

“Are you a mixologist?” she asked.

“No, I just never know what mood I’m gonna be in.”

She surveyed the contents of the very stocked cabinet then told it, “I’m an amateur, but I dabble in the mixological arts.” She looked up at him. “Prepared to be adventurous?”

“Always.”

She gave him a look that was both hot and approving before her eyes skidded through the cut potatoes he had on the baking sheets and came back to him.

“I’m on drinks,” she declared.

“Gotcha,” he replied, taking her hint, moving to the baking sheets and grabbing the olive oil. “You hungry? Or you wanna wait?” he asked to be certain.

“Hungry,” she answered.

“Cool, dinner in around twenty-five,” he muttered, and got to it with the olive oil, salt and pepper on the oven fries.

He was sliding them in when she was sliding a glass next to the stove.

“I went with a pear base,” she shared.

“Pointing out the obvious, since I had a can of juice, I dig pear,” he told her and picked up his drink.

She held hers out.

He grinned at her and clinked.

He tasted it.

She’d gone with spiced rum, some lime, a ginger ale float.

“Nice,” he said.

Her black eyes twinkled…

Wild Wind

When he was sixteen years old, Jagger Black laid eyes on the girl who was his. At a cemetery. During her mother’s funeral.

For years, their lives cross, they feel the pull of their connection, but then they go their separate ways.

But when Jagger sees that girl chasing someone down the street, he doesn’t think twice before he wades right in. And when he gets a full-on dose of the woman she’s become, he knows he finally has to decide if he’s all in or if it’s time to cut her loose.

She’s ready to be cut loose.

But Jagger is all in.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series.**
