How can you explain to someone what it’s like not to care? Not about yourself or the person standing next to you. I’ve lost that, the ability to feel and show affection.
I DO, HOWEVER, HAVE A HEART.
Sometimes, when I chase the dragon, it thunders through my head like a drum, reminding me it still beats.
It’s still there.
HOLLOW. EMPTY. WASTED.
My agent says I have one more shot. A single, solitary chance to stay in the music biz, but there is one massive problem.
HER. SYN LANDRY.
REVIEW by Kim
This book gives us Rhys story after Jay, and how he is dealing with the drama from losing the people he loves in his life. He has lost his best friend and band member, the woman he loves all in a matter of months. His drug use has just gotten worse, the drug rehabs are not helping, he is on the verge of committing suicide. His manager comes to him giving him one last shot at recording an album in Nashville with a sober companion Josh, and a country star. He is so not wanting to do this all he wants is life to be over. But for his mom he does go, and there he meet Syn, the girl with the yellow eyes. Now this book is different then most out there, here we have the girl fighting for the boy which is a spin on most things out there today. There is an instant draw to Rhys that Syn knows she must be there for him. She is a small town country girl who lost her mom at a young age, a innocent girl who doesn’t drink, smoke and she didn’t date boys in high school. She is totally opposite from Rhys who is a womanizer, drinker, smoker and long history of drugs. He feels he is not worthy of Syn, and tries to push her away but she won’t let him. She tries to help him the best she knows how and he slowly wakes up to see it. The question is can Rhys let go of his past and forgive himself and let a relationship happen or will he relapse and tear them apart. This is a story that shows you how drugs can take life and ruin it if you let them.
I love angst….I thrive on it, but only the fictional kind. I adore a story that grips the reader from the beginning and doesn’t let go…EVER. I’m an avid reader who just recently discovered my love of writing. My favorite things in life include my three wild & crazy kids, Reese’s Pieces, and every genre of music. I reside in the Deep South.
Currently, I am writing a new adult/contemporary romance story that I can’t wait to share. I also plan to release Rhye’s story, Wasted Heart, in 2013.
